The foodies are always in search of something new and exciting and theme restaurants with good food are just what they need, any new concept added earns brownie points. There is a trendiness attached to the theme restaurants as they have to offer more than just food. When you enter a theme restaurant you feel transported to a whole new place with the whole different setup of a train, jungle or village and if they serve good food too, the experience is sure to be a memorable one.

Food when served in an amazing thematic décor tastes more delish than eating at the usual dining places. There are numerous theme restaurants in the town like village theme, Parsi theme, Dhaba theme, Jungle theme, Nawaabi theme, cricket inspired décor, buffet places, a royal train or a “rock n roll” theme, our foodie team has selected the top theme restaurants to stimulate your senses and take you on a food safari. Here are some of the best Theme Restaurants in Gurgaon serving good food with unique whimsical themes, new concepts and good service.

     Jungle Jamboree

Jungle Jamboree is new on the block with a fascinating jungle theme and new concepts of “7 course on table buffet” and “7 course drinks buffet”. This place earns full points for the ambiance, the different zones like aqua cave, jungle zone and others imparts a tranquil vibe. Lush green surroundings, blue aqua zone, mermaid sculptures and animal murals are imbibed well, going with the theme of the place.

This place offers a lavish buffet spread from different cuisine, Italian cuisine, Chinese, Mediterranean, Continental cuisine, Lebanese & North Indian cuisine. The 7 drinks accompanied with each course are like the cherries on the cake. Each course is served on the table. The first and second course includes papri chaat, fruit skewers, delicious manchow soup bruschetta and more. The vegetarian spread here is as good as the non vegetarian spread. The accompanying drinks aam panna and lemon ice tea are good too. The third and fourth course is the starters, most of the items in these courses are good but chicken tangri, paneer tikka and galouti kabab need a special mention. Next two courses are International and global mains, which again are great. Pizza, ravioli pasta, dal makahni and rara ghosht are delectable. The breads are falky and served fresh with creamy raita. The dessert section has different varieties as well, you will love the gulab jamun and paan ice-cream.  All the drinks served with each course are nice and compliment the food really well.

The service and staff are very friendly and attentive too. With smiling faces, a new concept, a lavish spread of national & Indian cuisine and great food this place is surely worth a visit. They offer a lot of food, one cannot possibly eat all of that but cannot leave it either as the taste is wonderful. If you are a group finding a place to eat a lot, head straight to Jungle Jamboree, highly recommended!

Kingdom of Dreams

Culture Gully of Kingdom of Dreams has different restaurants with state themes. The best themed restaurant in Kingdom of Dreams is Lucknow. The entrance of the Lucknow restaurant is gigantic and magnificent with an authentic Lucknawi feel. The interiors are very well done with a dominant green color and stone carving, they will remind you of old royal Nawabi age and you feel transported to a royal palace. If you are lucky you can catch the kawwali and gazals here.

If you want to dine in a shahi andaaz this is the place for you, the menu doesn’t have the regular daal makhni but delicious Lucknow style food. The murgh korma and sheermaal roti is must have. Beverages are really good here, thandai and chaach are especially good. You can also try lassi and ganne ka ras.  Lucknawi Biryani, kakori kababs, veg kababs, nihari and ulte tawe ka parantha are some of the great dishes. The mawa kabab, ghosht biryani and rattan biryani are passable though. Rampuiuri korma, khamiri roti and bakharkhani are also good in taste. The kababs were soft with just the right texture and taste. Lucknavi dum pukth biryani and galouti kababs are one of the best dishes served here. Mocktails are fine and desserts are good, you will love the phirni.

The service is a tad slow but the servers are extremely polite, attentive and courteous. Overall this is a great place to have Lucknavi delights in a royal ambiance with awesome food. This is one of the best restaurants to visit in the Culture Gully.

Howzatt

Howzatt is a cricket theme restaurant with a big LED screens for watching matches, definitely a place for cricket fans. The interiors are very well done where chairs, ceiling, furniture everything resembles cricket elements. The seats are in glove shape and décor speaks loud about cricket. Howzatt is a happening and fun place serving fresh beer.

Not just interiors but the in house beers are named after cricket elements like googly, full toss doosra and bouncer.  Out of which googly is the best, pale white beer which is thick, fruity and pleases the taste buds, this one is a must try here. However the food menu is limited with not much to offer to the foodies. The masala peanuts are tangy and good in taste, just how they should be. Galaouti kababs and stuffed mushrooms are not up to the mark but not bad either. The chicken malai tikka is good in taste with succulent chicken pieces and creamy marinate. Chicken n cheese, onion rings and dumplings are decent in taste not exceptionally good though. Mutton preparations are fine too. The beers here are surely worth a try. Pepper prawns, chicken drum and pepper mushrooms are great in taste, other prawn preparations are good too. Music at this place fails to impress.

Service at this place is just fine, servers are attentive and well informed about the menu. Overall a nice place for cricket lovers or friends to catch up and have a good time while watching cricket in an amazing stadium like décor and enjoying snacks.

      Sahib Sindh Sultan

Sahib Singh Sultan scores high on ambiance, it has been designed like a luxury brass train carriage with comfortable upholstered seats and a train platform setting. The concept is great and interiors are done in whimsical royal manner. The timely announcements and the décor makes you feel like you are actually sitting in an old school royal train.

That is not where the charm of this restaurant ends, the food that they serve is really good too, they serve Gujrati, Punjabi and Rajasthani food. Aloo bukhare ke kofte and jalebi parantha are few innovative items on the menu that you can try. The Thompson’s atta chicken is a great dish with chicken wrapped in dough and heated slowly in a tandoor. Paneer rahara masala and palak ke kofte are good in taste. Kakori kababs and paneer tikka are delectable. The dishes are a bit spicy but you can customize them if you have kids along. Lal maas, parat wali murgh Biryani and murgh peshawari is to die for. Kaju Kumbh and Shikampuri Kababs are great too. You can really experiment with their menu. Almost all the dishes are decent here. The breads are served fresh, especially loved the rumali roti here. The chicken and fish preparations are amazing and the vegetarian dishes too are above average.

The service here can be slow at times, and we recommend making a prior reservation before coming at this place. The staff is very polite, courteous and well informed about the menu. There is also a drinks menu, if you fancy a drink with your meal. This place is surely one of the best theme restaurants in Gurgaon, highly recommended!

Hard Rock Café

Hard rock café is a “rock n roll” theme café with a big stage with drums for occasional live performances, a huge screen where the songs being played can be seen and walls adorned with rock memorabilia. The music that they play is worth appreciating, especially if you are a rock music lover. A place full of energy and enthusiasm, they have also kept original stuff of famous celebrities like the pink Floyd guitar.

Famed mostly for its juicy burgers, this place serves decent food.  Burgers here are good but not exceptional and thus do not really live up to the expectations, chicken burger is good though. The pesto sandwich, onion rings and pasta is just passable not really up to the mark. Salads are good, Greek salad is well prepared and so are the French fries.  Bhuna chicken tikka and bruschetta is good in taste. You can try the berry cooler here, a refreshing and cool drink. The vegetarian dishes are just average here, easily avoidable. Cottage cheese fajita and mango cooler is a good combination to try. Potato and prawn preparations are absolutely delicious, perfect spices, texture and flavors.  Nachos, chicken wings, assorted hummus platter and HRC classic burger are just passable. The non-vegetarian preparations are better here, not really a place for vegetarians.

The service is a bit slow but the servers are quite efficient, polite, well informed about the menu and always on their toes. Try the mocktails here, you won’t be disappointed. Overall this is a nice place with electric ambiance, decent food and great service. You should visit this place at least once.
